Cannot install XTU

I cannot install XTU tool.

I've tried many versions (including 7.14.1.12) with similar results.

Also I've made my homework and tried some solutions from the Internet.

Nothing helped.

My OS is Windows 10.

Full log below.

Hello mikolajpodbielski,

Thank you for the update.

We did not receive any reports from our customer's that they have an issues with all of this apps and they are working fine here on our lab. This only proves us that your system needs updating or fresh OS installation of the system itself since you are using an OEM system from a 3rd party manufacturer. You can verify this with Dell if they have recommendations as well.

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Best regards,

Hi Michael,

It is laptop with i9 9980HK on Dell motherboard. 4x16GiB DDR4 2666.

I've tried:

- running several versions of XTU installer

- running installer as admin

- running installer in win7 compatibility mode

- installing from .msi file found in temp

- uninstalling vcredist

Best regards,

Mikołaj

Hello mikolajpodbielski,

Thank you for sharing the model of your processor and details about your system.

It is possible that the reason you cannot install XTU is did not meet the requirements.

You are using a K processor, however he don't know if this is altered or modified by the laptop manufacturer.

And also, you need to check the chipset of the board. Here is the link for the requirements if XTU:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000006636/processors/processor-utilities-and-programs.html

Kindly contact Dell or the manufacturer of the laptop to further check if your system is capable of running XTU.

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Now I can Also add Processor Identification Utility to the list of Intel failing apps.

It refuses to install with message "The installed processor is not an Intel processor".

Hello,

Thank you for answer. It could be the issue with MOBO, but I had XTU installed and working around 2021.

In addition I discovered that 2 other Intel apps don't work at all: System Support Utility and Processor Diagnostic Tool.

PDT triggers UAC and displays kind of splash screen for fraction of a second and that's it.

SSU also triggers UAC, but displays nothing at all.

May these 3 appe have something in common that is broken on my system?

Hi,

Yes, I've read previous post. Thank you for all information.

I have discovered that there are Dell tools which refuse to launch with message like 'This is not a Dell system'.

So I guess I have serious problem on my side for which I don't know a solution...

I'm going to reinstall OS when I have time for it.

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,
