Had this board with windows vista installed previously,
i had to get a replacement board because of damge done during over sea's shipping.
Got the same exact model, but now it won't boot into vista unless I turn off multiplexing, so i only have one core active.
When its on, it just hangs at the screen BEFORE the windows logo, just a blinking underscore that goes on forever.
System specs as follows:
DDR2 4gb
Geforce 260 868mb
intel core 2 duo conroe 2.

Hi,
Ok, I am afraid that didn't really help too much. The reason i ask for the SL is because tehre are at least three different SL for that CPU and only two of them are compatible with the board so it would be worth checking. The other thing i would do is update the BIOS by the following the instructions in this link: http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-023360.htm

The CPU is compatible. The way that I found the SL number is:
Type: 0 Family: 6 Model: F Stepping: 6 forms a CPU String, and that CPU sting is SL9S9 processor.
http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SL9S9 http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SL9S9
So is compatible
http://processormatch.intel.com/CompDB/SearchResult.aspx?Boardname=DP43TF http://processormatch.intel.com/CompDB/SearchResult.aspx?Boardname=DP43TF
And as Cpt.Dogfruit stated indeed, is problably best to upgrade BIOS to the latest version.

I turned off extended CPUID functions in the bios and it now boots in with dual core. I don't understand why it does this since Vista should support that but, whatever, I won't question providence.
Thanks guys!
