Hi all,

My computer gets turn off unexpectedly in between. I have cleaned by removing fan and all the components but still its turns off.

Then I searched for CPU temp in BIOS and I found that it goes upto 90deg. I think this is very high and when I run other program it may go further high and finally turns off.

Please guide me on this and what should I do now? Pl help.

Please confirm that the Temperature received in BIOS is for the whole Processor and not by core. If the processor is overheating, the system may shut down after booting.

Also, make sure that the CPU fan is connected properly and running, and the thermal interface material or the thermal grease is applied properly. You can also check if the power supply fan is running properly and if any other external case fans are running fine. Confirm that the air intakes for the external fans are unobstructed and have at least several inches away from walls and other items.

If the issue persists, we would recommend you to contact the local support center for your location. You can find the telephone number at:

Dear Alvaro,

Thank you for reply.

I have cleaned system

applied new Intel thermal paste

both fan, cpu and power supply working properly

now after applying new paste temp is reduced. speedfan shows cpu temp upto 55 (code1 - 40C and core2 - 42C) and some times cpu temp upto 65C

and system has enough space for air circulation

but still

it shuts down, can you help me.

How Long have you been operating this machine with the overheating condition ? You May have damaged the CPU , Might think of replacing the CPU or if you have a spare try a different CPU and see if the problem still exist. Another question how long does the sys run before shutting down.
