WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR on i7-13700K

Hi,

I've started running into this error consistently and I'm getting a unidentifiable BSoD that isn't generating a mini dump. I went into the kernal for a bugcheck and it seems it's a hardware error, but I can't figure out what is the hardware error.

There ended up being no direct problem with the hardware or software. One of the mounting posts for the AIO cooler had become slightly loose (I have no idea how), and a small area of the radiator plate had pulled slightly away from the CPU die in one corner. So the chip was staying cool enough not to have a heat shut down, but not cool with a few of the P cores to run high intensity workloads properly. Cleaned, repasted, and reset the AIO cooler and have had no problems since.

How it became loose is anyone's guess, the computer had been moved a few times, but I've honestly never had that happen before, and the problems were relatively recent and sudden and well after the last time the PC case was moved.  If you're running into this problem and you can't isolate it to hardware or software check your cooler!

Hello @RyanC_

Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities.

Was it working before?

Please follow this:

·       Reboot the system and enter BIOS settings, set the BIOS to its default settings, and reboot system.

·       Remove any hardware or drivers that were installed recently to see if they are causing the issue.

·       If unable to start with normal mode, start Windows in safe mode.

o  Check if there are any driver errors in the device manager and update device driver for the devices that are showing errors.

·       Get the latest updates with Windows Update. Go to Settings → Update & security → Windows Update, and then select Check for updates. When done, reboot your system.

·       Check if there are any hardware issues.

o  Try to boot with minimal hardware settings (for example, one DRAM, less hardware components on your system).

o  Test DRAM: Try Windows 10 app called Windows Memory Diagnostic to check for memory issues.

o  Check the power supply.

o  Try to test other hardware in the system. (For example, if another working hard drive is available, then use it instead.)

Also, in order to have more information about your system, please download, install and run Intel® System Support Utility for Windows. Make sure you check “Everything” before you scan, then save the report and attach it to your response.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me.

The computer had been running flawlessly, but started crashing during mostly gaming, though it has had some issues with just normal utilities.

I've done all these trouble shooting tasks and additionally

Ran memtest86 for 5 passes, no errors
Did both a Prime95 and Furmark pass, no errors
Tried reinstalling all new software/drivers/hardware that I've added since a month before the problem started
Rolled back my GPU driver to its last stable version.
Run SFC

Run DISM

Run CHKDSK

Reseated All power
Reseated all hardware,

I keep getting that same error and I'm starting to wonder if it's CPU related.  I have attached the requested .txt file from SSU

Thank you for the information and for working with us.

Is it possible to perform a swap test? (test another compatible processor in your current system).
