Upload/Playing of audio via FPGA board

Hey everyone,

I'm designing a basic 2 player tank game using the Cyclone II board for class using vhdl.

I was trying to implement the playing of a midi in the background, but can't figure out how to do it.

I was hoping on something really simple that would allow me to:

1. upload the midi file to the board, and

2. map the play/reset of the midi file on a button press.

Even a simpler, if anyone has a simple tutorial on how to make the board output sound based on frequency and duration, I could just hand program the song if I have to!

Any examples or links to useful tutorials would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.
