alt_write_flash_command_16bit_device_16bit_mode fails

Hi,  

I have a prototype board based on Cyclone III 3C40 FPGA. There is 16M external flash. On the top level,  

alt_flash_dev* dFlashFD =alt_flash_open_dev(FLASH_NAME); returns 0. 

On low_level, it fails alt_write_flash_command_16bit_device_16bit_mode which shall return "QRY", but some other codes. 

The external flash is 16Bits Intel 128P30. 

 

Anyone has any hints that what causes flash not functioning?
