I am about to go to layout with a board using the first low inductance cap for bypass. I'm using an X2Y cap. Anyone else have other experience/recommendations?

A long time friend of mine does some consulting for them.
I highly trust his and their ability to understand ths issue with bypass cap needs for FPGA's. http://www.x2y.com/news.htm 04/03/2006 - Power Integrity Expert Steve Weir Wins Best Paper Award- Mark as New

The inductance comes from the size. each mm length gives a nH. Thus the 0603 size is my preferred size. I tend to use 10u (1206) in the vicinity and a bunch 100n (0603) close to the chip. I admit to consider even smaller (0402..0201) ones beyond my capabilities.
