Hi!
I need to program (https://www.alteraforum.com/forum/#) some epm3032 (https://www.alteraforum.com/forum/#) cplds (https://www.alteraforum.com/forum/#). The bdf file was generated (https://www.alteraforum.com/forum/#) by quartus (https://www.alteraforum.com/forum/#) version (https://www.alteraforum.com/forum/#) 13, free download. According the warning (https://www.alteraforum.com/forum/#) after compilation (https://www.alteraforum.com/forum/#), this version (https://www.alteraforum.com/forum/#) doesn´t (https://www.alteraforum.com/forum/#) generate (https://www.alteraforum.com/forum/#) programming files (https://www.alteraforum.com/forum/#) like *.pof and *.jam. I've tried also quartus (https://www.alteraforum.com/forum/#) 13 web version (https://www.alteraforum.com/forum/#), unsuccessfully (https://www.alteraforum.com/forum/#). The question (https://www.alteraforum.com/forum/#) is: What can i do to generate (https://www.alteraforum.com/forum/#) programming files (https://www.alteraforum.com/forum/#)? I have an unusual demand to supply a very specific board that uses EPM3032 and i will not program more than 20 pieces of it - it doesn't justify to buy the Quartus tool. Is there a lite and free version that could be downloaded ? Best Regards JoelLink Copied

Hi Joel,
one can use the following web link for legacy SW for older PLD families: https://www.altera.com/support/support-resources/download/legacy/maxplus2/mp2-index.html I should support the MAX 3000A family. I am not sure if there is a BDF file compatibility across different design systems such as MAX+PLUS II and Quartus. Best regards, Martin- Mark as New

Even though it doesn't generate .pof or .jam, it should generate .sof. You can then convert the .sof to the correct file format using the convert programming files option (which I think is in the Quartus File menu).

Hi sstrell,
SOF file format or SRAM object file is connected with configuring of SRAM-based FPGA Altera devices only. But the mentioned EPM3032A belongs to MAX3000A CPLD family and therefore POF or JAM or JBC files are appropriate. I assume for the mentioned device it isn't possible to generate a SOF file.
