Hi,

I tried to run Quartus II for the first time. When I attempted to compile a design my antivirus software quarantined one of the files in Quartus II.

Is this a known false positive or do I actually have a Trojan?

The detection type is 'generic' meaning that the file looks suspicious to the antivirus but no specific threat was detected.

OS: Windows XP SP3

App: Quartus II 32-bit Version 13.1.0 Build 162 10/23/2013 SJ Web Edition

The above was downloaded from altera.com

AV: Avast (Free edition) Ver: 2015.10.0.2208 Virus Definitions Ver: 150220-0

Detection name: Win32:Evo-gen

Detection file: C:\altera\13.1\quartus\bin\neto_vlgo.dll

There is no problem on Q15.0 or 14.0

The only version that makes troubles is Q13.1.4

Any way, F-Secure confirmed that the dll file is safe and they will update their database accordingly.

As we know that file is not a real virus, could you have the control of the antivirus to place this file as exception? time to move in bro..... :D:D
